Holy Name High School Turns 85!
Going Down The Memory Lane...
As Colaba's Holy Name High School completes 85 years, its alumni and teachers relive their past, with fondness.
After passing out from HNHS in 1964, Gemma Martin, fondly known as 'Gemma Miss' across Colaba, started to teach there from 1968 till 2005 when she 'retired'.
She recalls the time spent with students, teachers and others who made the school what it is today. She spoke of the old man who would sell 'buddi ka baal', 'kaccha aam' and 'ber' outside the school gate and how Colaba has changed now!
Gemma Miss, who continues to serve HNHS, its students and alumni, is the common thread over generations.
