Colaba Cops Display National Pride

"Everyone was there at 7.30 am for the ceremony," says Colaba Police Station's Senior Inspector Kusum Waghmare who made it to the Colaba Police Station herself from home in Ghatkopar.

"It is commendable considering most of the staff travelled from places as distant as Kalyan, Vashi and Belapur to the Police Station at sharp 7 am for the event," added a proud Ms Waghmare.

After heading the Ghatkopar Police Station, Senior PI Kusum Waghmare was posted to the CID where she worked for a year as Senior PI before taking charge of the Colaba Police Station from 12 January 2021 and now heads a staff of 180 personnel.

"Today, 25 officers and 150 staff attended the Republic Day flag unfurling ceremony that included six female officers and 20 women police constables," she said with pride.

The ceremony that lasted for about 30 minutes included the flag-hoisting and a round of snacks for the staff later. Soon after, the staff had to rush off to key locations across Colaba for bandobast.
